Emirati Training Academy

This programme is divided into 3 phases:

• The Fundamentals Phase (Phase Zero) of the programme which was launched in August 2023 and closed in October 2023. This phase offered 9 short bite-sized courses in Mobile App Development and is currently closed.
• The Foundational Phase (First Phase) of the programme is open-enrollment, free of charge, and available to all eligible learners who complete the enrollment application on our website. Learners will have a duration of 6 weeks from enrollment to become certified. Certified learners of this first phase will then be invited to apply to the Nanodegree Programme Phase (Second Phase).
• The Nanodegree Programme Phase (Second Phase) is free of charge and consists of a 3-4 months, self-guided learning journey with other qualified peers. To graduate from this phase, learners will study specialized and advanced content and complete real-world projects in Mobile App Development.

• Learners in the Foundational phase (First Phase) of the programme will learn fundamental skills in two of top demanded digital skills and tracks in Mobile App Development
• In the Nanodegree Programme Phase (Second Phase), learners will have the opportunity to work on real-world projects designed by industry experts to build their portfolio of skills, and learn one of three core digital advanced skills sets to become future Mobile App Developers.

As a learner in the Emirati Training Academy Programme, you will have the opportunity to be a part of two phases of this programme. The first phase, which is the foundational phase (open to all learners) and the second phase which is a Udacity Nanodegree programme phase (which is more selective).

• In the first phase, you will learn about the foundational elements of the track you’ve selected, that are pivotal to the future of Mobile App Development. There are NO prerequisites to starting this programme. You do not need any previous knowledge or experience because you will be learning all the fundamentals in the course and attempt the certification assessment to become certified. This phase is self-paced and allows you to go at your own speed: by studying 1-2 hours/day, you could complete this phase in just 2-3 weeks! After completing the first phase, you will get the chance to assess what you’ve learned through a certification assessment (You have unlimited attempts at the certification assessment within the duration of 6 weeks from enrollment) and if you pass, you will be awarded with a Certificate of Completion signed by Udacity’s founder, Sebastian Thrun & Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy’s Vice President, Saeed Al Gergawi . Once you pass the Certification Assessment, you will be invited to the Nanodegree application to gain entry into the second phase of the programme. This application will test your baseline skills in the Nanodegree pathway that you have selected.
• The second phase is the Nanodegree Programme Phase, which consists of a 3-4 months, self-guided learning journey with other qualified peers. Throughout your entire learning journey you will be required to attend live-virtual weekly sessions led by expert tutors and you will have access to an online community platform, where you will get to ask other learners and tutors for support to help you through any learning difficulties or even to network!

The programme is designed to exclusively upskill UAE citizens (Emirati nationals of all ages and living across all Emirates). There are no technical prerequisites to enter. Basic computer skills like managing files, navigating the Internet, and running programmes will be useful. This programme will teach you everything you need to know.

Both phases of the programme are free. There are no fees for enrollment in either phase of the Emirati Training Academy Programme.

After passing the Foundational Phase (First Phase) Certification Assessment and gaining your Certificate of Completion, you’ll be invited to apply for the Nanodegree Programme Phase (Second Phase) through a Nanodegree application. Learners will be notified through email as soon as the Nanodegree applications are open.

You will receive an email from the Udacity team confirming that you have been qualified for the Nanodegree Programme Phase (Second Phase) following your Nanodegree application.

There is 1 cohort in the second phase of the program. This cohort is expected to launch in June 2024. Where accepted learners will be invited to join a live webinar “Kickoff” event to cover the details of the program and join a cohort of learners to start their Nanodegree that day. You can find the dates of the upcoming cohorts in your classroom.

Applicants for the Nanodegree Programme Phase (Second Phase) must meet the following criteria listed below:

• Learners must be UAE citizens (Emirati nationals of all ages and living across all Emirates)
• Learners must pass the Nanodegree application and score the highest among their peers applying

Yes, you can enroll in both tracks offered in the Foundational Phase (First Phase)

The Foundational Phase (First Phase) of the programme is planned to end in May 2024.

Learners will only be eligible for one attempt at the Nanodegree application, per Nanodegree track during the period when the Nanodegree applications are live. This is your way of competing for the Nanodegree Programme Phase (Second Phase).

Learners who have been selected for the Nanodegree Programme Phase (Second Phase) will receive an email with all the details prior to the Kickoff event and start of each cohort in the Second Phase.

We will contact you via email. Please make sure to check your e-mail frequently and you will need to use one email for everything during the two phases of the programme. Note: make sure to check your spam folder to see if you received emails from our side.

You should maintain the same email address you used to apply for the Emirati Training Academy programme for the duration of your entire enrollment in order to maintain eligibility for this programme.

Both Phases of this programme are fully online/virtual. The Foundational Phase (First Phase) is a self-paced learning model. The Nanodegree Programme Phase (Second Phase) has a live-virtual component (weekly sessions) led by expert tutors.

• For the Foundational phase (First Phase), we recommend that learners spend 1-2 hours a day learning.
• For the Nanodegree Programme Phase (Second Phase), learners are recommended to allocate 10-15 hours a week learning

There are no withdrawal or postponing options after you are enrolled in any of the phases. You should only join this programme if you are committed to learning and graduating within the defined timeline of the programme.

Yes, you can take the Certification Assessment the Foundational Phase (First Phase) more than once (You have unlimited attempts at the certification assessment within the duration of 6 weeks from enrollment). For The Nanodegree application, you can apply only once per Nanodegree track.

As part of the Foundational Phase (First Phase), there is one summative assessment per track called the Certification Assessment, which you must pass in order to get certified and receive the Certificate of Completion. To be Eligible for the Nanodegree Programme Phase (Second Phase), you must pass the Nanodegree Application and score the highest among your peers.
